Home at last!!!! Posted on December 17th, 2013 by

Picture for NewsletterI am home at last and loving every bit of my stay in Ghana. I never thought summer 2013 would be here … but it has come and gone. My last visit to Ghana prior to my arrival here on July 23, 2013, was in the summer of 2003. For ten years, I planned to visit home again and whenever I mentioned my plan to others, the resounding response was: “but that is such a long way, 2013 is so far away … “. Who would have thought it will come and go so soon?! It is such a great feeling to be back in Ghana, teaching, researching and visiting with family and friends. What’s more, my sweet husband, Sarfo Nimoh, came with me in July and has come again for Christmas. What a great life, what a wonderful world!!!

I cannot believe I have already spent a semester of teaching and researching in my very own homeland, Ghana. I taught a wonderful group of M.Phil students. The course, an intriguing one, for that matter, was Education and Social Stratification (more on this to come). I am so excited and looking forward to another great semester at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana (popularly known as Cape Vars or simply, UCC). It is located along the Coast, in Cape Coast, the capital city of Central Region. More postings such as this one are  yet to follow soon. Come and share my sabbatical experience in Ghana with me!!!!
